We brought everything, didn’t forget a thing…. But when it was time for a shave…..

It was fun. As a small country you reach the finals of the WC soccer . Everything turns to orange and brotherhood spreads. Yesterday was a moment of contemplation though. I see people deeply disappointed and I can’t help thinking: Well…. there are other things. I think of my fellow patients who have to deal with other things than losing the final. I think that is the most important lesson I learned these last 4 years: everything is relative. I think I’m not the only one who is able to value certain things in life. It’s over, but life goes on….. It’s been a long time since we spoke live. Bas and me we volunteer for our patients-platform, we administrate the website. There was work to be done, so we sat in the shade of his backyard which was very nice. It was a pleasant afternoon. Besides talking about tweaking the website, we took the time to share the some insights about our multiple myeloma. Thanks, Seona! It could have been so much fun… For days it has been warm and dry… All the way from Enschede, Jan & Marlies drove, for hours…..We were supposed to have something cool in the shade and go for a little boat ride…. Did we have showers for three hours…. When they left the sun started shining again… It was nice this myelomablog get together, but it could have been so much nicer….. It was a wonderful evening, last night in the Heineken Music Hall. Just like last week we were six of us enjoying. The Newzealanders were obviously in a good mood. Their soccer-team had “won” a draw against Italy and you could tell by the happy faces (see picture). A fine concert, I was happy to wear my hearing protectors, to avoid further damage to my ears. I must be very careful with what’s left. A lovely way to spend fathers-day in short!! You must watch this |
